Product Line Manager (f/m/d) - Run Apparel
About the Role: We are looking for a Product Line Manager (f/m/d) – Run Apparel to join our GOREWEAR team. This person is a product visionary and will translate consumer needs and trends into world class product, authoring product and life cycle strategies that drive growth and deliver on our business objectives. The ideal candidate has outstanding technical apparel acuity, with a resounding passion for running and the outdoors, a strong knowledge of the North American running market and the consumer’s sphere of influence.
This position will be located at our facility in Feldkirchen-Westerham, Bavaria, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Obsess the GOREWEAR consumer, with a focus on analyzing market trends to uncover product opportunities that inform the product roadmap
- Lead the creation and execution of the global running product plan and author detailed product briefs that translate consumer insights into actionable product concepts
- Drive the entire product development process for the run assortment, own decision making from briefing throughout commercialization and meet brand and product sustainability targets
- Work hands on with the Design & Development team to establish target performance qualities, costs, and margins and timelines
- Partner with merchandising, planning, marketing & sales teams to set seasonal assortment and go-to-market strategies that deliver financial results
- Drive product life cycle and SKU rationalization strategies, constantly aiming to drive growth and improve productivity
- Conduct product testing to ensure our products live up to our “Fitness For Use” brand promise
- Provide product management, consumer, and market intelligence in cross-functional topics related to sourcing, materials, sustainability, quality, costing, capacity planning, product marketing, innovation, and future growth strategies
- Lead the entry of accurate and complete information in the PLM system, ensuring effective data governance
- Serve as the holder of relevant historical product performance data, making data driven decisions about the future
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or combination of relevant education and experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience as a product manager with an emphasis on technical apparel brands and minimum of 3 years working experience with the US run market
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the global run market, market trends, retail, media, and competitive landscape with a focus on North America and Europe
- Demonstrated success leveraging market research and consumer insights to uncover product growth opportunities
- Experience managing product lines across multiple seasons simultaneously while maintaining holistic data integrity
- Experience utilizing a PLM software in daily operations
- A deep passion to working hands on product in a small team to constantly improve the status quo
- Highly effective communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrate ability to influence or engage others, demonstrated strategic-mindset and task-oriented nature
- Outstanding technical apparel acuity, with strong knowledge of the running consumer’s sphere of influence
- Ability to set measurable goals, and drive initiatives to achieve them, experience facilitating productive team meetings and presenting in front of large groups
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Centric PLM Software
- Strong knowledge of the end-to-end technical apparel product creation process, including sourcing, operations, and demand planning
