Electrical Automation Controls Engineer
About the Role: We are looking for an Electrical Automation Controls Engineer to join our Fabrics Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for electrical controls design, software design, and specification development in addition to working on projects to add new equipment, modifying existing equipment to improve yield, reliability, etc, and supporting daily operations through troubleshooting; both as a project leader and core team member.
This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and work with cross-functional project teams to modify/upgrade existing equipment, add new manufacturing equipment, and support equipment needs for R&D
- Perform electrical design and hands-on support for process equipment (e.g., drives, programmable logic controller [PLC] logic programming, human-machine interfaces [HMIs], wiring schematics, power systems, instrumentation, and motor control systems)
- Understand and provide input to the asset life cycle and obsolescence strategy
- Work closely with vendors on the design and purchase of new equipment and modification to existing systems
- Create and update specifications, software, electrical, and documentation
- Develop and complete process equipment validations and documentation including the use of Quality Management Systems
- Provide field supervision of contractors for installation of new equipment
- Work closely and partnering with shop associates as a resource for electrical expertise including troubleshooting equipment breakdowns
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or related degree (Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology) with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with hands on experience in industrial control systems (PLC, HMI, drives, and industrial networks)
Desired Qualifications:
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawing experience to generate schematics, 3D electrical panel layouts, and other documentation
